GLC’s thoughts:

First off, I’d just like to thank everyone for believing! There’s a lot of people saying where we could of been if this was released in 04 but for what ever reasons it wasn’t. I no longer wanna deprive the people of their rights! You have the right to embrace my concept as well as those of Kanye, Consequence & Tony Williams as we gave you are all! This is a story of triumph over the ills of society & the workforce interfering with your pimpin’ & in this time of a recession this record may be more relevant now than it was in 2004! Thank for letting me grow with you! Love, Life & Loyalty coming soon! Hello World! Oh yeah my player is fixed too sorry about the prior non pimpish auto-play!

Wow. I mean, I know music is full circle, but for me – this tune has a whole new meaning right now. Damn.

Peace, Love & Spaceship

I’m a bit late on this, but true say the homie Morph over at Hip Hop Gremlins hit me up with it early this morning.

Anyways, the first mixtape these guys put out was, to put mildly, f*cking awesome. This one is of course, very much the same – but altogether different. But quality similarities and musical differences aside, Travis Barker & DJ-AM have come up with a rather creative and completly new method of distributing their mixtape. This time, they are charging people one tweet for a download link. Using a brand new custom engine, they are giving their new mixtape away as a free download once you have tweeted an automated message. Beyond genius. In fact, just about the best marketing/distribution concept I’ve heard of since Prince’s album giveaway with the Daily Mail.

So, all you gotta do to gain access to this ridiciously dope mixtape is go to twitter.trvsdjam.com and follow the simple instructions. Easy peasy.

I normally really hate those celebrity ‘sightings’ posts, but this I had to put up LOL. Who new Nas & Maxwell were such…BFF’s? Maxwell sang at Nas & Kelis’ wedding, right? Ha. The irony of this picture in that case.

Firstly, trying to make your ex-wife jealous by posing with hot chicks, with a soul singer via Twitter, doesn’t really scream ‘cool move’ to me. And secondly, I don’t know why but erm, Maxwell man, fix up! Cigar, champaign – really? I ain’t mad still, looks like one hell of a party haha! Either way Nas & Maxwell: still the greatest to have ever done it!

Peace, Love, Nas & Maxwell

There are many reasons I love what I do, getting new music straight to my inbox is right up there.

Transatlantic Sounds sent over some brand new music (remixes infact) from the insanely talented beat maker KidKanevil. After the release of his much acclaimed Back Off Man, I’m a Scientist album, he returns with a rather cool remix project, 17th Samurai. Kidkanevil & First Word have gotten together some of Kid K’s favourite producers to remix some of the best tracks from his first two albums. But don’t get it twisted, these ain’t any old remixes – they include reworking from the likes of DJ Vadim, Jehst & Mr Thing, TM Juke, to name only a few. This is pretty serious stuff.

…What’s more they have lovingly provided two free tracks for our listening pleasure. The first, a Jehst remix of “Stomp” featuring Justin Percival and the second being “When I Dig” featuring the incredibly dope Kissy Asplund & Blu, remixed by DJ Vadim.

KidKanevil – “Stomp” Feat Justin Percival (Jehst Remix)

KidKanevil – “When I Dig” Feat Kissey Asplund & Blu (DJ Vadim Remix)

…These tracks are perfect for summer listening – trust me. “Stomp” is actually too much.

The remix project comes ahead of KidKanevil’s third full album Basho Basho, which we can expect to drop in the Autumn! But London folk can catch Kid K do his thing at Doctors Orders on June 5th at Herbal!

Bonus: You can also download a new KidKanevil mixtape entitled 18 Samurai which features music from The Cool Kids, Dorian Concept & J.Dilla (amongst an eclectic mix of others!). Download that HERE & check the tracklist after the jump!

Peace, Love & KidKanevil

He’s officially the hottest artist for 2010. Drake was supposed to pass through my show last Friday, but he canceled at the last minute due to a studio session that was running late……..with Rihanna.

I hooked up with him the following day, instead of doing the usual studio interview, we hit Hyde Park.

Drake breaks down:

*The Rihanna situation.
*Working with Kanye West
*Working with Chase & Status
*The forth-coming album and releasing it independently.

…..and more.

I’m gonna drop the full interview on 1xtra this Friday, 10pm.
Peace, Love & Drake

Here goes the 2nd leak off Ric Cordero’s “Inside a Chance” mixtape soundtrack…

James Watts – “Your My Life”

Update: J.A.M.E.S says:

As promised, I’m keeping things rolling strong into this summer. As many of you may know, renown video director Rik Cordero will be releasing his second feature film, “Inside A Change” this summer. In conjunction with the movie’s premiere, Three21Media have put together a mixtape featuring all new music from Wale, Joell Ortiz, Saigon, Jesse Boykins III and several other great artists — I was fortunate enough to have Rik reach out to me for an original contribution as well.

For “You’re My Life”, which was inspired by the film, extraordinary producer and good friend Frank G lent his production & vocal expertise to the project

The video is coming this week too, so keep an eye out for that good stuff.

Peace, Love & James Watts

Oh. My. Daze! Doing my daily skim through the ol’ inbox, my eye instantly (and naturally) focuses directly on the subject title that reads “brand new Sa-Ra”. You know! This track is the first leak off the groups Nuclear Evolution: The Age of Love which drops June 23rd. My patience was thin before this track, but now, after hearing it? I need that album…Yesterday!

Sa-Ra – “B*tch Baby”

Oh SNAP! Electro, funk, sexy-summer vibes right thurr!!! These cats are too much in my opinion. Easily one of the best musical adventurers around. They be tooooo much! This track is what I shall be bumping for the next hour day week.

Peace, Love & Sa-Ra

Last night was a big night for Eminem, for more reasons than one. First, he performed “We Made You” and “Crack a Bottle”, but it was the skit that went down between Em & ‘Bruno’ that has had everyone talking. Check both the performance and skit below…

LOL! That was f*cking genius! This is why I love them MTV music shows! I don’t have a doubt in my mind though, standardly that was all planned. It was all a bit coincidental – think about how their cameras were completely ready for the route Em took to ‘storm off’. Well very played out though.
