Mariah Carey dropped her new track on radio (how very old school) earlier. Only just heard it, so check it out (CDQ)…

Mariah Carey – “Obsessed”

Vocoder aside, it’s…Well, it’s lackluster I’m afraid. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not terrible, not by a long shot and to be real it’s a BILLION times better than that stupid “Touch My Body”, but the fact is: this sounds like any next tune. It doesn’t sound like a song that is recorded by one of the most successful females in music history. Or, by someone who has ‘one of the great voices of all time’. Nor is it a song that a grown woman should really be dropping? LOL. But I say again, I don’t hate, hate it. I was just expecting a lot more.

…And I can only assume she’s speaking about Eminem right? I mean, who’s really obsessed here? Lol.

Oh and MC’s new album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel drops August 25th. Let’s hope it’s better than the lead single.

Yup. You heard me. Jay-Z & Colplay > Wembley Arena > 18th & 19th September 2009.

Now, you’re either gonna be super excited about this, or like me, not. I mean, Jay-Z of course, I’d be excited, but Coldplay? Man. Why they gotta do that for? I know I’m about to insult a bunch of people, but I really, really cannot stand Chris Martin or his band! They’re just so…Boring!

But as I type/moan, I know that this is Hova and so, Speeakz will most likely have to be there regardless lol!

We’ll keep you updated of course. As for the cover, I gotta say – I kinda like it! It’s almost a Mariah throwback? Interesting.

Bey’s new video just premiered, ain’t got a second to watch it I tell you, I never liked this song, until I saw her perform it live at her concert. She took my breath away, truly. This video, while extremely understated is beautiful. Ms Knowles looks amazing.

Lupe Fiasco Feat Mathew Santos – “Shining Down”

Hmm…It’s an interesting one this one, because I really like it, but my only problem with it is: I don’t hear anything new? And what I mean by that is that this track could have easily been on Lupe’s last album. You know? But as I said, I do like it – I think the tune is pretty hot, I just hope he brings something new(er) to the table after this. But yea, I’ve always been a big fan of Lupe’s so I’m definitely looking forward to the new (and final??) album.
