…Now, I’ll be damned! This looks like a serious movie! Oprah & Tyler Perry are involved, so that’s a good thing. And boy, even Mariah looks like she’s good in it! They do say ‘getting ugly’ in the movies brings out the best in you – she clearly has used that to her advantage! Sorry, back to the film – I’m very curious and interested in catching this movie when it’s released – it looks like a really well made film!

Today marks the 59th birthday of the legend, icon, God that is Stevie Wonder
I was trying to figure out what I should say about Mr Wonder, but it’s all been said before and in fact – I’ve said it all before both on here and to everyone that knows me or gives me the chance. Stevie Wonder has given us so much, it’s sometimes hard to get your mind around it.
He’s provided me with my all time favourite soul album. Songs in the Key of Life is without any doubt in my mind the greatest soul album ever created. Simple. Nothing tops it and nothing, in my opinion, ever will. It’s perfect in every way and a real piece of art. I was introduced to it when I was a kid by my parents and since hearing songs like “As” & “Ordinary Pain” – I was hooked. I can safely say he paved the way for the love I have for soul (and subsequently Hip Hop) music. But of course, he’s given us much more than just this one album – the endless hits from the Motown era, albums like Hotter Than July, Innervisions and the experimental Secret Life of Plants to name only a few. R&B, Soul, Funk, Pop, Neo-Soul – Stevie Wonder encompasses the endless possibility of music.
On this day, one of the greatest musicians to have ever graced this Earth was born. And for that, I am truly, truly happy.
