The lovely Amelia aka Superwoman (putmeonit.com) shot over this new joint by The Diamond District. Above is a cool mini-documentarty on the group, which consists of band members Oddisee, XO & YU. And below is a track called “Who I Be” which is the first track off their “mid-90′s Boom Bap themed album” entitled In the Ruff, which will be available online, as a free download, come April 14th (you’ll find it right hurr, don’t worry!). Anyways, watch the docu and download this…
The Diamond District – “Who I Be”
These cats are real cool! I’m feelin’ their whole vibe right now. And tell me this track doesn’t bump!?! That’s a dirrrrty beat right there – they kill it. This is one of those “lemme just listen to that one mo’ time” kinda joints. I trust you’ll agree. Have I ever lied to you before? Make sure you show The Diamond District some love via their site and as I said, watch out for April 14th for that album In the Ruff.

Super producers Akon and Pharrell Williams have signed up to produce tracks for X-Factor winner Alexandra Burke’s debut album. Talking to the Daily Mail Akon says: “I’ve had calls to work with Alex and I’m going to do it. I love the X-Factor and I love helping to break new artists”.
Having signed a £3 million record deal late last year, it was clear that record label bosses were intending to pull out all the stops to ensure that like fellow X-Factor winner Leona Lewis, Alexandra enjoys worldwide fame and recognition. Having on board producers of this calibre will not only do that, but will also help Burke distance herself from Leona, a comparison she will inevitably have to deal with.
I’m excited about this. I can only hope that the label has learnt from the citicisms everyone had about Leona Lewis’ album – which was, that it was all too damn slow! Lack of uptempo tracks led to a really boring album, albeit brilliantly produced and amazingly performed by Lewis. So, with this news I hope that Alexandra’s personality and artistry is fully explored. I’m anticipating big things.
Definitely looking forward to hearing how this all works out.
Peace, Love & Alexandra Burke

I hit up New York last week to see what’s happening and hook up with some of the most influential people in the game.
Kid Cudi is one of the hardest working artists, and the hottest, which means he’s pretty hard to track down at the moment. It looked like the interview wasn’t going to happen unless I met him at an airport, or train station on his return from Boston.
If you think I’m exaggerating check the departures board in the background. Like Benny Blanco from the Bronx, I was patiently waiting.
