This has been sitting in my inbox for a couple days (my bad Abjekt!), but it’s been kinda a crazy few days, so am only getting to post it up now. “Impossible” is a track off Daniel Merriweather’s upcoming album Love & War, but this is the Sticky remix – so check this out…

Daniel Merriweather – “Impossible” [Remix]

I’ve had Merrieather’s album for a minute now, and I must say – it’s pretty damn impressive. The mans voice is dope and his song writing is on point. Not to mention, the Dap Kings are all over the record, which is never a bad thing. “Impossible” is probably one of my favourite cuts off the album; Am I lovin’ the remix? Not entirely, but it’s pretty decent.

Peace, Love & Daniel Merriweather

Yesterday we posted part 1 of SoulCulture.co.uk‘s ‘Dear Mama’ series which featured various (cool) artists speaking and sharing stories about their relationship with their Mums in celebration of Mothers Day (22nd, in case you forgot) and as promised, here’s part 2…

KanYe West is on the latest cover of Complex magazine in this highly futuristic shoot. The pictures [below] are crazy, I really like what they did. It’s all about making a shoot interesting and contemporary. Also head over to Complex.com to read the whole article/interview and watch a video on how they achieved that computerized look.

…Pretty cool stuff, huh?

Course, we know the G.O.O.D Music showcase at SxSW was incredible, but this, this was my favorite moment. Common and Erykah Badu on stage together freestyling…

[vodpod id=ExternalVideo.800168&w=425&h=350&fv=]

Badu is my Leader. Straight up. Name me one other artist that does what she does and/or is doper than her? You can try, but I ain’t gon’ be convinced. Lol.

Saturday night was dope. The crew and I headed to Cargo (actually been there like 50 times this year already?!) to catch Black Milk and eLZHi do their respective things live. However, on arrival we were notified that eLZHi had cancelled his performance. Can’t lie, I, like most others, were pissed, but that soon went away as we entered, saw a few friendly faces and grabbed ourselves a ickle drink.

Before we knew it, it was time for the show. Black Milk’s DJ, Hexmurda, a big dude, [who is by all accounts super safe], came on and played Milk’s piano led introduction off Tronic which united everyone in a crazy roar of excitement. The rapper than rolled on stage with no fuss and with complete ease and jumped right into his set. Tracks off the Tronic was rocked nicely including my favourite joint off the album “Give the Drummer Sum”. I ain’t even gonna attempt to recapture in detail the setlist coz as you all probably know, I’m rubbish at remembering order but just know that my man killed it on stage.

…It was real good seeing London supporting such a slept on producer/emcee. It’s easily done, but in my opinion is criminal – Black Milk has continued to prove himself as both a producer and as an artist. His beats, productions and songs have never faulted (in my humble opinion at least) and so it’s only right he be celebrated in our capital.

n643621580_2064096_2429421

While the show was dope (albeit a tad short?), it wasn’t til’ Milk came off stage that the real dope sh*t began. After signing a billion autographs and taking photos with fans by the stage, the homie Fantasticunt and I headed backstage and entered possibly the smallest, most packed out room I’ve ever been in, where we were to EXCLUSIVELY interview the man [Black Milk] himself. The interview, which I won’t reveal too much about as yet, will be dropping imminently and went extremely, extremely well. Actually, I reckon it was one of the best interviews we’ve had here on PinBoard.

n643621580_2064110_1067292

Half way through the interview, while chatting to the tour manager, Hexmurda and a few others, non other than eLZHi walks in the (tiny, tiny) room, at which point I could only think “what.the.fu*ck?”! Like, what am I meant to say to eLZHi? Sheeeit, at least give me some warning. But it was all good, ice was broken by him telling the story of how he was held up at customs on arrival into the UK! Lol.

After all this, we headed to Plastic People for NON-Sense/After party where as well as resident DJ’s Judah, Benny Blanco and Mr Wonderful tore it up (as usual), we were treated to an incredible set by Black Milk himself! I had to leave relatively early (round 3am) but I heard eLZHi got on and did his thing. Oh and shout out to Fatima who also killed it on the mic yet again! Watch out for a lil’ collaboration with her and PinBoard real soon.

So yup, there ya have it. Big up to Black Milk, eLZHi, Sam, Peggy and Nora for making it all happen and yea, interview soon come!

Peace, Love & Black Milk

Semtex just posted a mammoth blog of his time in Austin for the SxSW festival and what went down at the G.O.O.D Music Showcase (which you can watch, in full HERE). But before you shoot off over there, check this dope footage he took of Mr Hudson, KiD CuDi and KanYe West on stage together, doing their thing…

[vodpod id=ExternalVideo.799868&w=425&h=350&fv=]

Now hurry over to to Sem’s spot and check the incredible pictures he’s got of Jadakiss, Dead Prez, Common and Erykah Badu, not to mention, historic shots of the entire G.O.O.D Music family. Damn, I’m jealous!

Peace, Love & SxSW

Here’s the hotly anticipated video for Ciara’s and Justin Timberlake’s collabo track “Love Sex Magic”…

[vodpod id=ExternalVideo.799866&w=425&h=350&fv=]

See, I’m not a fan of Ciara and often get abusive comments from the (UNserious) stans out there, BUT this video is HOT. Like, it’s one of the few videos that have dropped recently that’s got me watching a second time. I can’t hate on it one bit. The tune, is cool – I don’t love it but that’s only because it seems like a song that didn’t quite make Justin’s last album. But nevertheless, it’s not a bad song. The video makes me like it a lot more though. I’m impressed. “Love Sex Magic” comes off Ciara’s much delayed Fantasy Ride album.

Peace, Love & Ciara

This right hurr is Monica’s first single off her up-coming album Still Standing. The song was written/produced by  Bryan Michael-Cox and J. Ferrari. Check it out…

Monica – “One In a Lifetime”

Because I’ve been somewhat unimpressed by most things Monica has dropped over the past few years, I was already skeptical about this tune. But, I’ll be dammed if I’m not only my 4th play already! “One In a Lifetime” is a really great mid-tempo! I’m feelin’ this a lot. It’s current, but kinda tradional – which is what Monica does best. This lady has one of the best R&B voices out there, but in my opinion, has lacked in putting out the right material. But with the arrival of this track, my faith is slowly being restored. I’m quite impressed with this. Looking forward to more of the same.

Peace, Love & Monica

Wow, when I got this in my inbox, I had to take a second (who’s Sophia Fresh again?). But then I pressed play and remembered this heavi, heavi tune we featured a while back (which at the time featured KanYe West). Man, I love this track…

Download: Sophia Fresh Feat KanYe West – “What It Is”

I LOVE this track. Like, this is the kinda R&B girl group material I enjoy listening to. Crazyfresh.com. I think, with a little…direction, these guys could be real cool. This is the type of group R&B needs right now. Kinda edgy, kinda out there, not safe and boring. Yea man, imma hit play on this again.

Peace, Love & Sofia Fresh

The Foreign Exchange are one of my favorite, favorite bands. Their Leave It All Behind album was one of my favorite albums of 2008. I was just listening to it yesterday, it’s too much. Check them out doing their thing and speaking on a few thangs…

When are these guys coming to London? They gotta come over sooooon! Would love to see what these dudes do live. Incredible. Make sure you have Leave It All Behind and of course, not forgetting their debut Connected.

Asher Roth does his thing a capella Sun Sessions (which I’ve never heard of. Probably because I’m ignorant to anything involved The Sun newspaper).

“Sittin’ In Class Dreamin’”

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pC4yliCO74c&feature=player_embedded]

“Just Chillin’”

Still am unsure as to why people (a few I know personally for that matter) hates on Roth? To me, he’s a dope emcee. Not a lot of dudes can do what he does, as good as he does.

Peace, Love & Asher Roth

wale-chillin-single-cover

Wale’s dope, but GaGa? I’m not 100% sure what’s the fascination with her yet. I illegally copped her album expecting something spectacular and instead got something pretty sh*t. Eh, it is what it is I guess. Anyways, the said two are on this one joint called “Chillin’”…

Wale Feat Lady GaGa – “Chillin’”

Wale always goes in, I can’t hate on that. And you know, I don’t hate GaGa on this, although she sounds very M.I.A like? Hmmm…? Plus Wale quoting M.I.A don’t help much. What you sayin?

Peace, Love & Wale

As those in the UK (should) know, yesterday was Mothers Day. A day where we all remember to say “I love you/Thank you” to the ones that gave us liFe, advice, love, headaches and wisdom (to name just a few things!).

…And in celebration of this day, our friends over at SoulCulture.co.uk got various artists (all of whom I am feelin’) including PinBoard friend Ra-Re Valverde, Jesse Boykings III, Taalam Acey, Chester Gregory and our very own Tawiah to share some intimate stories on their Mama’s. It’s a dope piece, and is only part 1 (second part coming soon)…

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-z2euQQBAVw]

Cute huh? Really liked that video! Thought it was a really cool idea. Made me mentally answer the same questions – nah, I ain’t sharing em’ haha!

Peace, Love & Dear Mama…

I don’t often post stuff on artists I’m not really feelin’ or like. But, regardless on my personal opinions on this man, he is extremly interesting to watch. Lol. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing, but either way, that’s why I post the stuff that he puts out. I’m still not a fan of this song but eh, it may grown on me…
