Michael Jackson Makes HIStory…AGAIN! [NEWS]3
Posted In Blog by Speeakz

Update: Never one to be out done, Michael Jackson will now break Prince’s 21-Nights** record at the o2 by performing no less than 30 shows! The additional 20 shows were released to respond to the incredible demand from around the world for tickets! Damn! I mean, this isn’t much of a surprise a) the number 30 didn’t come from no where and b) MJ couldn’t allow Prince to have one over him LOL. But yea, it seems Summer 09 will be the year Jacko came…And stayed!
LOL @ all those folks who said Michael Jackson wouldn’t be able to sell out an arena these days.
King of Pop Michael Jackson has made music history and broken all previous pre-sale records today as over 1.5 million people, from around the world, scrabbled to get tickets to his “This Is It” concert in London. The initial 10 shows sold out within seconds, making AEG immediately respond with another 9 – however, those too, sold out almost instantaneously!
The demand for tickets during the pre-sale has been so massive, it sent ticketmaster into meltdown. Chris Edmonds, Managing Director of Ticketmaster* said “we have witnessed an unprecedented level of demand for the Michael Jackson concerts at The o2. Unfortunately due to a technical issue, we were unable to facilitate all immediate ticket requests. Apologies to those fans who were unable to log on, but fans should keep on trying to purchase tickets”.
AEG have also commented saying “This was a situation beyond promoter AEG Live’s control”, however they too have also took steps to rectify the situation. Fans who registered for the pre-sale would have received a code last night. Additional codes are being issued as new shows are added.
Fans are advised to stay tuned to www.michaeljacksonlive.com for updates and additional show information. Tickets for all shows will be available when they go on sale to the general public on Friday at 7am. I recommend you go straight to www.ticketmaster.co.uk for show information.
Also, in other related news AEG Live bosses have said that fans can expect a new single and new material from the King of Pop before his first date at the O2. It’s been said that Jacko, who has a bunch of new material, is trying to find new and effective ways of getting his music to his fans i.e. yet again, I can see him doing what Prince did and either giving his music away via concerts/newspapers or doing some online ting.
…That said, lemme tell you my ordeal. I was up, like a proper MJ stan, at 6.45am waiting for 7am to buy my tickets. Er…DIDN’T HAPPEN! Those other 1.5 million people got there before, crashed the site and made me go into a spilt second rage! haha! Was going mental! At 7.01am tickets were GONE! I had two seperate opportunities to buy great tickets, but ticketmaster kept crashing and then when I put my card details in – something went wrong and BAM! Gone!
…I then spent the next 3 hours, literally, refreshing the page, waiting for new dates to be added. It was bait they were gonna add new ones. One buy one they kept coming and one by one, they were slipping away. I was going mental. I literally couldn’t have been ANY quicker LOL!
ANYWAYS…I ended up getting the most amazing seats you could possibly wish for for the gig on August 17th. I got me some floor seats baby! Overly happy. Now, I can relax. The only worry I have is: I didn’t want a late date coz I really don’t think Jacko will be able to do ALL the dates. I bet my ticket he’ll cancel. I’ll be pissed.
…Does MJ still have what it takes? To sell tickets YES! BUT on stage? Well, we’ll have to wait and see, I’m still not 100000% convinced. I just knew I had to be there, either way. This is HIStory yo!
You going? If so, what dates? Tell me your ordeal when trying to get yours!
Peace, Love & Michael Jackson

*Someone needs to tell that man that £9 booking fee + postage takes the PISS!
**Prince did it first. Sometimes, that’s more important. Innovate and all that jazz?
