The Guardian is reporting that in April an unprecedented auction will take place allowing the public a look into the (very) private world of Michael Jackson and his Neverland ranch. More than 2,000 items will up for sale, ranging from personal effects and costume pieces, to historic and iconic career items, to Jackson’s private art collection will be for sale at a four-day public auction at the Bevery Hilton hotel in L.A.
After Jackson was acquitted of all charges of child molestation in 2005, he has never returned to his Neverland ranch, a 2,800-acre property in the Santa Ynez Valley, 130 miles west of Los Angeles, which was opened in 1988 as a private amusement part with a zoo, roller coaster and bumper cars. Named after Peter Pan’s fantasy island where children never grow up, the singer invited children to play freely in its grounds for years. Since then however the ranch was brought by a private investment company and renamed Sycamore Valley Ranch due to Jackson’s on-going financial difficulties.

And now, items found within those grounds are up for auction. The effects up for grabs offer a real insight into the wacky world Jackson enjoyed for many years. It’s absurd the types of things he surrounded himself in. You really get a feel for the type of man he is/was as well as his own personal opinion of himself.
It really is hard to concieve that a man who was, at one point, the biggest star in the world and not long ago, one of the richest is now esstentially, broke. How can one man really spend (waste) that much money in a lifetime. If reports are to believed, at one point the King of Pop was worth around $990 million.

Personally, as a Michael Jackson (MUSIC) fan, I think this is crazy depressing. I mean, to see such historical items under the hammer for quite a small amount of money is just sad. It’s sad to think that such a great artist has really, on his own, ruined his life and career and is actually beginning to ruin his legacy. I mean to see that mask (after the jump) from the “Moonwalker” movie up for sale for like $2,000-3,000? Man! It’s not a good look.

As reported everywhere, Chris Brown finally released a statement yesterday, exactly one week after he assaulted his (ex)girlfriend Rihanna…
“Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person. Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds.”
Not much of a statement really, but is exactly the type of bull I expected. I thought I’d keep this updated (achieving purposes init!) and will continue to keep you in the loop by only reporting “official” news. For all other goss, you know where to go!
Jay-Z also released a statement saying:
“This is a real situation. You have to have compassion for others. Just imagine it being your sister or mom and then think about how we should talk about that, I just think we should all support her. She’s going through a tough time. You have to realize she’s a young girl, as well. She’s very young,”

Realistically, I don’t have the time to be posting this. I just got out the shower, am already running late to meet the homies (Nandos > Drinks > Cargo > J Dilla Changed My Life) but I just checked my inbox and found this and couldn’t resist. As you all know, I’m a huge supporter of Blu’s so anything he drops, you can guarantee will find itself on PinBoard. Including this new mixtape, which I’ve been told dropped via his Myspace late last night.

Damn. Following on from the last post, allhiphop.com are reporting that KiD CuDi was involved in an altercation that resulted in him being tasered and arrested by police last night!
The “Day N Night” rapper was allegedly involved in a fight while at the Reebok party in Phoenix, Arizona where much of the music industry is celebrating the NBA’s popular All-Star weekend.
According to reports CuDi, who was booked to perform, physically and verbally confronted a pair of Reebok employees because he wanted to wear a pair of Jordon trainers which did not agree with the people of Reebok (obviously!). This then led to police to get involved after which the altercation escalated and resulted in CuDi being tasered, “a move to control his behavior”. It is presumed that the rapper was then arrested but actual charges have not been publicised.
Man, what is going on with these young artists? Lol this is madness. I mean, I can only go on what has been reported (and I know, you can’t always believe what you read) but if the information above is accurate – mans gotta chill the f*ck out? Boi. Let’s see how this one develops.

I actually remember that Vibe article. I have it. It’s a great feature and gives a good insight into the world of domestic violence and this is a great interview. I know I posted that jokes video yesterday, but of course, this is a very real problem and should be discussed openly more…
But I must say, I have to disagree with both Jay and Elizabeth when they say that Rihanna has been receiving a lot of slack about this whole situation – I mean, I can’t speak on the situation over in the US but over here in the UK (and correct me if I’m wrong) the general consensus is that Chris Brown is the biggest pu*sy going right now? I haven’t heard one person (well, at least not in my network anyways) condone what Chris did regardless of why it may have happened…
