She looks amazing. I know that’s not normally the best thing to say after watching a new video – but she does! I didn’t like this song initially, but it’s growing on me. I’m glad to hear that “Pocketbook” is to be her third single – we need something with a bit more…heat for Jennifer!

I really respect M.I.A for speaking up about her country and the problems (for lack of better a word) they’re having at the moment in Sir Lanka. Of course, artists go onto big shows like this to promote their product (album, tour, book etc) and so for her, especially at this point in her career, to speak about those kinds of issues – is, in my opinion, very respectable.

This was my favourite R&B/Soul mixtape of 2008 (actually, it’s almost my fav 08 mixtape full stop) and now it’s released without tags! Oddly enough I was just listening to it this morning on my journey into the office. Marsha Ambrosius is one of the dopest UK exports we got. Her voice is easily one of the best voices around and I love, love, love her writing skills. Yours Truly which dropped late December was compiled by Don Cannon and was fully produced by Aftermath’s Focus - their chemistry is undeniable. The production on this mixtape is ridiculous – in fact, I think it’s unfair to call it a mixtape and not an album because straight up, this ‘mixtape’ contains more quality than most albums. Period.
If you haven’t already downloaded this (FREE) mixtape, then shame be pon your head. But never fear, now is the time to redeem yourself. And if like me, you already been f*ckin’ with this, download and enjoy the clean, untagged version yo! Win-win situation really?

I’m overly happy she’s back and doing what she does best, but with the announcement of her new up-coming solo tour – I can’t help but wonder if she’s coming back a bit too soon. But then, sometimes getting back to normal is exactly what you need? Either way, I personally admire her strength.
