Yesterday the preview dropped, today it’s all about the full version. Directed by the homie Rik Cordero, check “ManWomanBoogie”:
[youtube=http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ejx7vG3WpzM]
Video Treatment: A surreal performance setting combined with clever narrative elements will define Man Woman Boogie with fluid camera movement and cinematic proportions. The uptempo jazzy beat inspired me to think about classic films that feature relationships between men and women on trains. Off the top of my head, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Darjeeling Limited featured some great scenes between a man and woman combined with the immediacy and urgency of a moving train about to reach its destination. Upon destination the man and woman would go their separate ways and reconcile later on. The moving train to me is a great metaphor for the ups and downs, ins and outs and the rush felt between the forces of man and woman.

Still bumpin’ The Renaissance…

“I already know you’re skeptical. I was too, and I manage Astronote! Think of one thing and then thank me after you listen to the remixes. This mix is hosted by Talib Kweli, one of Brooklyn’s finest. Would he jeopardize his career by attaching his name to some subpar Biggie remixes? Hell, would I jeopardize my almost career for the same reason? haha Astronote is the truth. Don’t sleep!” – DJ Graffiti
Here’s the first two leaks from DJ Graffit Presents: Astronote – Bigger & Better (the Notorious Remixes) hosted by Talib Kweli. Featuring Buff1 and Kweli himself, they take on two classic Biggie tracks…
Notorious B.I.G – “Young G’s” feat Talib Kweli (Astronote Remix)
Notorious B.I.G – “N*ggas” Feat Buff1 (Astronote Remix)
I can’t lie, when I saw this I was actually skeptical, but I’ll be dammed, both these tracks are dope! I like what Astronote has done to em’ and I really like Talib and Buff1′s verses.
You can download the full mixtape HERE at 3.09 on Monday (19th Jan)

I’ve been listening to a lot of new soul music recently and you get very few artists who do it better than Raheem DaVaughn (who is, IMO one of the most slept on singers around). This tune is big and with Luda on it, it’s even better…
Raheem DaVaughn Feat Ludacris – “Bulletproof” [Remix]
I know so many people who still sleep on DaVaughn. Truth is, he’s up there with the best soul artists we all love. I loved this track before it featured Luda and love it even more so now - Ludacris kills it.
Peace, Love & Raheem DaVaughn

Ri-Ri confuses me. I know her voice ain’t exactly the best (to put it mildly), but somehow I end up liking the tunes this chick releases? “How I Like It” is a new track that just dropped pon the TinterNets…
Rihanna – “How I Like It”
See what I mean? Her vocals are not that sexy on this track, but yet am surprised at how much I like it (pun intended). It’s amazing really. Rihanna is most certainly not the best female singer around, nor is she the greatest dancer/performer but yet she’s blown up and is pretty much one of the biggest pop stars around the world at the moment. Marketing is genius really.

A brand new Justin Timberlake track just surfaced and is of course produced by Timbaland…
Justin Timberlake – “Bigger Than the World”
With a title like “Bigger Than the World”, you would expect this maaaaaashive banger right? Err…wrong. Instead, you get a slow, moody ballad. I actually don’t hate this tune, but it’s by no way Timbalake’s best effort. I think my expectations were too high (when I saw the title lol). I like the instrumentation.

Aimé Cain, an MC and producer from the Neverlands just sent over his newly released debut EP Hi. I’ve seen this featured on a couple blogs over the past couple weeks, but only just got round to having a listen. Hi features 6 tracks and “invites the listener to a day in the life of this young artist”.
Some of you may know of Cain through his work with Blu and J’83 as the group Fried Cotton. The trio recently shot a documentary for Dutch television in which their collaboration was filmed (after the jump).
The EP is fresh. This guy is hella talented, I highly recommend you check it out. This type of education is priceless, you hear?

Busta again? Ha! Btw how many more remixes we gon’ get of this tune?? This time Busta & Lil’ Wayne join Jamie Foxx and T-Pain…
Jamie Foxx Feat T-Pain, Busta Rhymes & Lil’ Wayne – “Blame It” (Remix)
I really like this tune and I can’t lie, even though I normally hate an endless stream of remixes, I’ve so far liked all the different mixes that have dropped.
This is no exception. Again, I neeeeeed to check out that Foxx album asap. This weekend is all about catching up on the music I’ve been sitting on!*

*On that note: Thank you to everyone who sends in their tracks, albums, mixtapes, EP’s and videos etc. Just please, be patient with me! If I don’t get back in touch (don’t be offended) - it takes me a minute to get through all the emails, but if you’re confident I need to hear/feature your music/content – keep buggin me! I’ll take note.

Quite a line up right?
Busta Rhymes Feat Common, John Legend, Jamie Foxx & Mary J Blige – “Decisions” [DJ]
I’m feelin’ the track. I don’t love it. But definitely like it.

Spotted over at Eskay’s

I’ll let SmokeYYY explain…
Yesterday, guest disc-jockey Damon Albarn passed by Zane Low on Radio 1, playing some new heavily-anticipated Gorillaz material. Demos of “Electric Shock”, “Stylo/Binge” & “Broken” were spun. A change in direction for the animated ones, Albarn stated the band would be trekking to Syria in March to record the third album. The reasoning? “A real fascination with Arabic orchestral music”. Interesting. Anyhow, me likey, you will too. Below lies a .zip of the tracks that were played. Peepdem.
