Three men stabbed at music awards in the O2 Arena. One was seriously hurt and two received minor injuries at the 6th Annual Urban Music Awards at The O2 Arena in London.
One man was arrested following the incident, which happened on Saturday night.
Inside the auditorium, police cordoned off an area covering around six tables.
Officers initially cleared the room, but the audience were allowed back inside, although it appeared the ceremony has been abandoned.
Andre Nevling, 24, said a woman sitting at the same table as him was “covered” in blood.”Obviously the guy who got stabbed must have run straight past her and she’s pretty shaken up.”I came out of the auditorium and looked at her and she was just standing there. I saw blood all over the floor and then I was like, “Jesus you’re covered in it,” he said. Another eyewitness, who wanted to remain anonymous, said: “I didn’t see what happened but there were champagne bottles flying and I hid under the table.”
A spokesman for London Ambulance Service said crews were called to reports of an “assault” at the arena. Initial reports described one of the injured as a 20-year-old man, he said, but he could not comment on how seriously people were hurt. “We got called at 10.10pm to reports of an assault at the O2 Arena,” he said. “Currently staff are on the scene treating two patients.”
The ceremony marked the sixth year of the Urban Music Awards, which more than 5,000 people were expected to attend. Estelle, Adele, Leona Lewis, Dizzee Rascal and Duffy were among the performers nominated for awards, but it is not yet known which celebrities were attending. Singer Estelle, 28, was nominated for five awards while the soul singer-turned What Not To Wear presenter Mica Paris was to be presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award. [Source]
I mean, really, what the f*ck!? This is just madness! I actually can’t believe this happened at the O2 – I always laugh I gotta get my bag checked each time I enter that place, how the hell did this happen? Where was security? Aiight, obviously a lot of questions, but this is just stupidness. It’s a bloody award show, how ghetto can people be! Straight up. Waste. Let’s hope those who are injured are ok.

I was there, it was ridiculous. No one was searched before they went in or when they left. After we where held there for like HOURS! I think it was just sheer disrespect from people.
i was there too and i was right next to the table where it started. what hits me is it was GROWN MEN acting like teens and at an award cermony for BLACK MUSIC (something that they're a part of). I'm furious and chocked…How F@£$ing COWARD can you be stab/cut someone with a knife/broken bottle (in this case). No respect for life at all!!
Do you ever get the feeling that it isn't normal folk like you and me causing chaos but more like the authorities – inside job?!
I've read articles in british papers before where journalists go undercover to certain "urban events" and in one particular case there were police under cover as "normal folk" shouting, acting aggressive to try and start something.. it didn't work. The journalist knew they were police because she met him at a club the week before.
It's not always what it seems people!!!
Just found out there were no security checks the night of the UMA'S … There's always security checks at the O2!!!!!
