Kano’s new mixTAPE (literally, a tape!) is an ode to the real garage/grime we all [in London anyways] grew up on. Remember the days of pirate radio? When you and your peeps would hear the latest drop and go mad, trying to press ‘record’ at the right time?? Aaah yea, those were the days. Well, they ain’t quite over yet, coz that’s exactly what my man is channeling on “140 Grime St“. I got my hands on a copy of the tape (I know people init lol) and lemme tell you, it’s serrrrrrrrious! None of that major label fluff they love to impose, this is pure, untainted grime! My tape deck hasn’t been touched in quite a few years and I gotta say, listening to this kinda sh*t on a TAPE is pure blissful nostalgia! Genius move, I say.
I’m mad excited about the future of Kano. It’s dope hearing him do what he does best.
