"Untitled" Debuts #10

Yup! As expected Mr Nassir Jones snatched the #1 spot from Weezythis week with his album “Untitled”. Nas’ 5th #1 album sold around 187k in it’s first week, which is good – but not great? Considering “Hip Hop Is Dead” sold upwards of 350k in it’s first week. It’s pretty strange, coz not only is “Untitled” far better than “Hip Hop Is Dead” (in my opinion) but with all the controversy surrounding the album and it’s title [and subsequent title change], I would have assumed it would debut with better numbers?
Having said that selling 187,000 copies in its first week and having the album head straight into the #1 spot is never a bad thing and I’m overly happy with that, in any case! This album deserves it maayne!
…But sadly and as per usual Hip Hop did not fair too well over on this side of the Atlantic. “Untitled” debuted at #23. That’s pretty shitty. But we know the deal, Hip Hop don’t chart over here man. It’s all about guitar bands and pop groups. PFFFFFT!
