The PinBoard crew had a big Saturday night last night!
We started the evenings festivities off with a lil’ Japanese food (at our favourite, but top secret restaurant) and then made our way down to lovely ol’ Brixton to see N*E*R*D do their thang!
The gig was seriously hyped! The energy was through the roof and it’s safe to say errrryone had a seriously heavi time. Was it the best gig I’ve ever been to? Unfortunately not. It did feel like ‘something’ was missing, but it’s hard to put my finger on what that was! I think it had something to do with the guys not playing as much from the new album, as I assumed they would. While their first album is undoubtedly my favourite, I was mainly looking forward to hearing their “Seeing Sounds” material. I was waiting for “Love Bomb” like a motherf**ker, but it never arrived! However, when they did “Spazz”, “Everyone Knows”, “Anti-Matter”, “Lapdance” and “Rock Star” the roof was blown out! BIG!
N*E*R*D did bring it last night. Their energy, charisma and performance was on point. Pharrell Williams was working the crowd like a mad man. He was spazzin out for real!
…I must say, I am Hip Hop and so do not care for moshing, but thankfully was far away enough from all that dumbness not to be too bothered! Ha!
I’d give the gig: 6/10! It must be noted other members of the crew rated it higher (8-10/10)
After the N*E*R*D gig, a few remaining crew members headed over to Shoreditch for what was probably my favourite part of the night (sorry N*E*R*D)…
The Brainfeeder Festival was OFF THE HOOK. Flying Lotus is one my favourite artists’ around at the moment and so this event was a must for me. We rolled in at just the right time (just after 12am) as FlyLo was getting ready to do his thing. The all-out rave took place in an indoor car park in Shoreditch (just passed Curtain Road) and it was RAM! The buzz was unreal and we quickly realised we hadn’t been to a rave like this for many a-years! It was so jokes! The sound system was disturbing too!
Didn’t really take any pictures and the ones we did take were kinda sh*t. So, we thought we’d provide you with some videos we recorded!

If you were there, you know how it all went down. If you wasn’t, all I can say is: You missed a truly DOPE night! The vibe, the crowd, the music and the weed (BARE weed smokers up in that place!) combined made last night extremely special. Can’t tell you how much fun we had.
If you don’t know about Flying Lotus yet, please, please, I implore you to get to know! The music that that man produces (don’t know how he does it!) is truly remarkable! Go show him some love via his Myspace and get his music, like now!
