Erykah Badu spoke briefly on her up coming “New Amerykah Part 2: Return of the Ankh” and “New Amerykah Part 3: Lowdown Loretta Brown” albums…

“Return of the Ankh” is set for an July 2008 released and is to be accompanied by a USB stick which Badu says will include extras ranging from footage of concerts, to commentary on the recording process and “me in the bathtub with Flavour Flav” [praying that's a joke!] – “I wanted to give away my materials…It’s about sharing, and that’s why I like this system”.

Badu was pretty tight lipped about her third release “Lowdown Loretta Brown” saying only that it’s a “period piece” and explaining “I don’t want to introduce too much of that right now. I don’t want Gwen Stefani stealing my shit” < Jokes!!!!

Safe to say I’m pretty excited about this. “New Amerykah Part 1: 4th World War” is probably one of my favourite albums the moment, it really hasn’t come out of my CD player since I got it way back in February. I don’t really understand people who don’t love it, I think it’s not only one of Badu’s best efforts but also one of the most creative albums I’ve heard in a long time. She’s too dope!

Will be seeing Erykah end of this month @ Brixton and of course, we will be bringing you the best pictures/review – fo’ sure!

P.s Is that not the dopest picture? That’s her apartment – she continues to rent it, its the first place she ever lived in when she moved to NY. She calls it her ‘Museum’ - Invite me round for some [herbal] tea Erykah!
