The PinBoard Crew flew (flew? Got the bus rather!) down to EC2 to see Blu & Ta’Raach do their thang @ Favela Chic and let’s just say we weren’t disapointed!

Aside from the beaufifully ‘chic’ venue, the vibe was on point and the tunes kept coming. The boys were over in LDN as a part of their C.R.A.C Tour (pronounced CRASS), which takes them all over Europe.

We came to know Blu from his debut album “Below the Heavens“, produced by Exhile, which has been a long running fav in our music collection for some time now. He does his thing on it and when we found out we’d have the chance to see him and Ta’Raach [whom you should know from Dilla's  "Jay Love Japan" LP ] do what they do, we couldn’t resist!

The dudes packed the place out (we think they were even a bit surprised, at one point asking the crowd “how did all ya’ll find out about this?”!) and it was cool bumping into some friendly faces too (you know how London is, you can’t go anywhere without seeing a few good, good friends!).

C.R.A.C and their debut release “The Piece Talks LP” is a collaborative project from Ta’Raach and Blu, as well as a long list of other collaborators. ‘Collect Respect Anna Check’ (a la ‘C.R.A.C’) is more than a name, it’s “a movement of like-minded musicians, artists, producers and documentatians for a structural change in previous stratification’s of power and belief systems” – wow. that was deep right?

Anyways, the album was produced by Ta’Raach, who also shares the mic with Blu on “The Piece Talks LP“. The duo rhyme back and forth like B-Boys from the 80’s, it’s pretty dope to hear such chemistry. With C.R.A.C, both Blu and Ta’Raach bring something new, fresh and funky to the table. It’s different from what they’ve done before and that makes the album and made the night all the better. Even before the guys began their performance (which, in our opinion was a bit late in the night!), you could see the relationship the two shared, the love of Hip Hop they both had. It was cool seeing a DJ and MC just groove to the tunes they were playing and see Blu ’lip-sync-spit’, word for word on nearly every Hip Hop joint…!

…Yea, it twas a good night maaaayne. London was looking fly, the weather was perfect, the peoples in the place were having a good time and the Hip Hop being played was reDUNKulous. What more can you want? We ain’t gon’ lie tho, the PinBoard Crew departed the night pretty early – work commitments clouded our mind, but in our defence, we did get their BARE early! Nevertheless, the night was dope, glad we made it down.

…Were you there?

If you’re not on Blu, Ta’Raach or C.R.A.C, then you’re FLOPPIN’ big time. Get to know!

Peace, Love & C.R.A.C

P.s Sorry for the lack of pics – we flopped.
