Danity Kane & Day26

It is with regret that we inform you that Day26 has knocked Danity Kane off of the Number 1 spot in the U, S of A…!

Firstly, well-done to the guys & Mr Diddy/Bad Boy, it truly is great news for…Them!

But we must say, we just don’t get this? We’re just assuming TONS (190,000 to be exact) of girls rushed out to buy the LP because we dont feel it would have been so successful otherwise? The album went straight into the Number 1 position, knocking off Danity Kane’s album – however, they may have won the battle, but it doesnt seem they won the war. Danity Kane’s album shifted ALOT more (250,000 to be exact) copies in its first week of release…

It’s clear this album has done what it has done just off the back of the highly successful “Making The Band” series, because with all seriousness – it really isnt a great album? Danity Kane’s album is an album, that even without a highly successful show behind it, would have still done great – we think anyways?

But anyways, we dont like hating here @ PinBoard, so we’ll stop. Congrats to the dudes, who have done great with their debut album and congrats again to Diddy/Bad Boy and also Danity Kane – maybe Bad Boy is back??

Peace, Love & Baaaaaad Boy!

i love danitykane. they can sing and dance. that is talent. they are real down to earth even with their fame. they are not fronten they should be platinum plus diamond. the 5 girls love each other like sister then don’t talk trashy to one another they support each other, i thinks thats why people love them. the show woulld not be famous without dk . day26 they have no talent at all, they can’t dance or sing, the group has an ego and attitude problem. if this keeps up the group will not last. I really don’t know how day26 can be #1. i hat all their all D26 song.

It’s fascinating, isn’t it? All the different personalities on all the different forums. I just came from a board that was completly opposite this one.

Personally, I happen to think Day 26 is the more talented group. All five can sing and dance individually whereas with DK, they really only have two and a half singers and 3 dancers. I’ll leave it to the reader to determine which ones are which ones. Doesn’t mean I don’t have love for DK, just means I have a little more love for Day 26

Best of luck to both of them. We’ve seen over and over again that talent can have very little to do with success, so hopefully they will maintain and have long successful careers.

It’s true – they’re both talented groups and maybe talented in different ways. There’s plenty of room we say for all!!

Thanks for commenting! Keep checking PinBoard, we love hearing you opinions!

I think that Day26 has talent, but I’m feeling Danity Kane’s album a lot more. Day 26’s album is only about thier feelings for women, while Danity Kane took a different route. I can just here where the girls have imroved from the first time. To me it sounds like the guys are competing with each other. I LOVE DANITY KANE HOWEVER. IS ANYBODY LISTENING! LOL

This is funny. Are we talking about “appeal” or “real talent”? Clearly, Puff made two, different groups for two different reasons. He had to have a modicum of singing talent in DK in order for it to work but enough “eye candy” to satisfy the MTV crowd, so to speak. Brittany Spears is whacked out so there had to be something to take the place of her. Aubrey is a wonderful dancer and I’m sure Shannon is as sweet as they say she is but…”singing”. Pul-eez. You MUST be kidding. There was a REASON why Aubrey cried behind a bus while Dawn had to console her when they were making their first album. She wasn’t on ANY of the songs. Hello? There were reasons why Diddy was trying to invoke emotion out of Shannon in order to get some type of “soul” out of her voice in all those vocal lessons two seasons ago. There is a reason why Diddy INSISTED that Shannon get that red dye outta her hair and that he wants Aubrey to look like Bridget Bardot (sp), i.e., the two BLONDE quota for DK. Come on now, it’s all about “appeal”.

There’s only ONE group between the two that has the vocal chops to last longer than the “six pack, thin thigh and Size 6″ stage and they don’t wear lip gloss. If we’re keeping it real–they wouldn’t DARE put those girls head to head with those guys in terms of singing. It would be a publicity NIGHTMARE. When I hear Aubrey and Shannon sing live–I cringe because their vocals are weak and are at best, suited for “recording sessions”. They WILL leave the singing to Dawn and Aundrea…with large sprinkles of D.Woods. They will ALLOW Aubrey and Shannon to harmonize–and dance. PERIOD.

But…every ONE of those guys in Day26 could handle DK in their sleep–and we all know it. You see, the R&B world, is a harder arena than the “pop” world. If you can’t “blow” –you will get shut down. These guys could EASILY perform at a serious function, i.e., the Grammys because they really do have the goods. In R&B, you can’t hide by techno-machines and heavy, heavy hooks like DK and be taken seriously. It won’t fly. So for that ALONE, the real AWARD goes to Day26 because they have five brothers that can sing, do riffs, vocalize and resonate without all that breathy, nonsense you will get in Danity Kane.

Don’t get me wrong…I really LIKE DK…and am rooting for them but that don’t mean I don’t know how the biz is. So you shouldn’t either. I bought both DK albums and the D26 album the FIRST DAY…and anyone with a CLEAR and UNBIASED mind knows that in terms of vocal quality, resonance and substance…D26 is KILLING Danity Kane.

Sorry. It is what it is. DK=crossover appeal. D26=true, vocal talent.
